We are a Registered Investment Adviser (RIA), registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. We manage over $700 million in advisory assets for more than 300 individual and institutional clients. Our process is comprehensive, seeking to balance income and investment planning, tax management, retirement planning, estate planning, risk management, and other key elements of financial planning. We draw on deep experience and knowledge — our four partners share an aggregate of more than 100 years in financial services.

REMP provides sophisticated asset management to help optimize your portfolio's total return for your given risk tolerance. Many clients no longer desire to “work, work, work...retire.” We help our clients achieve financial independence, so that they can choose how they pursue their work, volunteer, and leisure goals. We work with existing retirement plans and/or install new ones to help maximize all available capital accumulation and distribution strategies.

While grappling with the intricacies of each client's tax strategies, we keep your broader life planning goals in the foreground. We work closely with your tax advisors to help minimize tax liabilities in all stages of your life via a variety of income, gift, and estate tax planning strategies. We monitor each client's evolving tax scenario and adjust portfolios accordingly to minimize ongoing tax consequences of their investments wherever possible.

We are involved in multi-generational life planning for many of our clients' families. In estate planning, we work with our clients' estate attorneys to ensure that they establish and maintain mechanisms to facilitate the efficient transfer of wealth. We work to minimize taxes and maximize benefits to each client's intended recipients, including both individual and charitable beneficiaries, whether via lifetime or testamentary bequests. We are well versed in the complexities of estate planning, including various trusts and insurance vehicles, and we help coordinate our clients' estate administrations.

Risk Management +

Protecting your health, family, home, and assets is a crucial part of life planning. We help you manage risk by determining your appropriate amount of insurance coverage in a variety of areas, including property and casualty, health, disability income, long-term care and life insurances. We help eliminate risk management deficiencies by implementing suitable and competitively priced insurance policies. Our holistic approach also analyzes any employee and government insurance benefits for which you may be eligible.

Gary E. Roof, CFP®

The founder and senior partner of Roof Eidam Maycock Peralta, Gary began his financial planning and asset management practice in San Francisco in 1982. Before that, he was a financial planner and broker at the Acacia Group in Washington, D.C. for eight years. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and is a member of the Financial Planning Association. He attended the University of Dayton and earned a BS in pre-law from Wright State University.

Don H. Eidam, CFP®

Don has been with the firm since 1988 and became a partner in 1993. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and is a member of the Financial Planning Association. He has a BA in economics and international relations from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

Randall R. Maycock, CFP®

Randy joined the firm in 1990 and became a partner in 1997. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and a member of the Financial Planning Association. Randy earned a BSE in entrepreneurial management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He has done extensive volunteer work in the Bay Area Jewish community.

John Peralta, CFP®

John joined the firm in 1995 after working for several years as a broker for Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch. He became a partner in 2001. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), holds a life and disability insurance license, and is a member of the Financial Planning Association. He earned a BS in finance, banking, and real estate from San Francisco State University.
